The cost of all goods in the nation's market began to climb as a result of the rise in the price of fuel oil. The cost of eggs is influenced, much like all other bare requirements. The cost of eggs unexpectedly rises. But it has begun to gradually decrease since last week. During the week, the price is $5 per dozen, and during the past two weeks, it has dropped by around $35 per dozen. The price of fuel oil has also been decreased by Tk 5 per litre by the government. The vendors claim that this will cause the price of eggs to drop much more in the upcoming days.
On Tuesday, August 30, it was observed that the majority of dealers were selling red eggs for 115 taka per dozen, white eggs for 105 taka, duck eggs for 180 taka, and local chicken eggs for 180 taka.
Beginning at midnight on August 5th, the price of eggs
began to soar along with other goods due to the increase in the cost of all
forms of fuel oil. A dozen red eggs cost Tk 160 two weeks ago. In the nation's
history, eggs have never been sold for such a high price.
In the capital's Segunbagichar, egg vendor Mohammad
Mehraj told Jago News that egg prices have decreased. Since a week ago, it has
started to fall. Daily price drops are occurring. The cost of eggs should go
down even further in the future.
However, neither the retail market nor the Oligli
shops in the city have seen a fall in egg prices. Retailers claim that if they
sell the eggs they previously purchased at a higher price, they will incur
losses. But they claimed that the retail market price will shortly reduce.
According to traders, the egg market would be impacted by the lower fuel oil price within a day or two. In the upcoming days, consumers anticipate further price reductions for eggs.
